Commercial Cleaning Robots 2026: Prices, Specs & UK Guide

The short answer: most commercial cleaning robots in 2026 are autonomous scrubber dryers. Small office and shop robots cover roughly 350–1,300 m² an hour and cost around £13,000–£20,000 to buy in the UK. Big warehouse machines from Avidbots and Tennant claim 2,600–5,900 m² an hour, but they're mostly sold by quote. Leasing and hire bring the entry price down to about £500–£725 a month for small models. For larger machines, short-term hire runs into thousands of pounds a month.

All prices and specs below were sourced on 7 November 2026 from manufacturer and dealer pages. These are published figures, not our own measurements. Prices exclude VAT unless we say otherwise.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a commercial cleaning robot cost in the UK?

The published UK purchase prices we found, sourced on 7 November 2026, run from about £14,000 to £19,500 plus VAT for compact robots. Examples are the LionsBot R3 Vac, Gausium Phantas, LionsBot R3 Scrub Pro and LionsBot R5. Larger warehouse robots from Avidbots and Tennant are price on request in the UK. In the US, the Avidbots Neo lists at US$79,830.

Can I rent or lease a cleaning robot instead of buying?

Yes. Leases we found start from £115 plus VAT a week for a Gausium Phantas (24-month minimum, indicative pricing). Finance on a Tennant X4 ROVR runs from £725 plus VAT a month over 5 years. Short-term hire through roboTED costs £1,399–£6,038 a month, with a 3-month minimum.

Do cleaning robots replace cleaners?

Not fully. Robots handle the routine open-floor pass. People still do edges, stairs, toilets, spills and tank changes. LionsBot's own savings calculator sets aside 15% of robot run time for human supervision.

What is the difference between "theoretical" and "practical" coverage?

Theoretical coverage is cleaning width multiplied by top speed, with no turns, obstacles or refills. Practical coverage is what the maker expects in real use. For the Gausium Phantas, for example, the theoretical scrubbing figure is 1,188 m²/h and the practical figure is 350–700 m²/h. Plan with the practical number.

Which cleaning robot is best for a warehouse?

Robots built for large open floors are the Avidbots Neo 2W and the Tennant T7AMR and T16AMR. On published figures they claim 2,660–5,890 m² an hour. Your choice depends on aisle widths, debris (some need pre-sweeping), forklift traffic and who services the robot locally. Ask for a site demo before you commit.

What will the National Living Wage be in 2027?

GOV.UK already lists £13.21 an hour for workers aged 21 and over from April 2027, up from £12.71. That would raise the cleaner-only cost in our example by about 4%. ---
